How well will this configuration run high-end games?

by Enterprise17017 - 9/25/09 3:53 PM

I'm buying a new laptop and am considering this setup:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9000
2.0 GHz
6MB L2 Cache
1066 FSB

4GB DDR3 RAM

Dual Nvidia GeForce GTX 260M
1024MB

How well will this run graphic-intensive games?
Thanks

it will run fine, but you may experience some lag, just because a computer is high end isnt always insurance that it will be flawless, but yeah i think that will be perfectly fine. whats the price tag on that thing?

wow thats a little over priced if you dont mind me saying...i just found one with the same specs and DDR3 ram, and 2gb more system memory for 2199, and its a very reliable brand. i think alienware is overpriced, you mainly pay for their looks and name. IMO i'd save the few hundred bucks and go with newegg with this asus model, i mean thats what i would do, but to each their own.

I suspected I was paying for that brand name. I'm seriously considering the Asus model now, it's a lot cheaper and with more memory Thanks!

I am buying a laptop within the next 2 weeks or so myself, while i only have a budget of 800 dollars, i have found many on newegg.com that are amazingly low priced for the performance, i just happened to wonder if that asus would suit you as well. if you want to look through newegg some more i bet you can find more deals! :-)
