My built in moden on my SONY VAIO laptop wont work
by CristinaPana - 11/4/09 9:47 AMHi! My laptop is a SONY VAIO, Model PCG-8J2M. Operating system XP Professional. After a period of inactivity (like a year) I cleaned the laptop inside, formated the hard disk and installed drivers and programs. all running well but for the modem. After configuring the moden I get the following error: "COM-1 is in use".
Any insights?

Laptops are turning out to be hard to install the Microsoft Windows from retail CDs. Here's the lesson -> Use the factory restore media.
