a little too soft for my tastes

by edthecow - 7/15/09 5:44 AM In reply to: Samsung LN46B650 picture settings by katzmaier ModeratorCNET staff

hi - thanks for sharing your settings.

After a while, though, I prefered to sacrifice some shadow detail and have deeper blacks so I set gamma=0 and black tone=darkest.

I also found that sharpness=0 was too soft and was giving me headaches (or maybe I'm just watching too much tv...) until I set sharpness=15.

Without any proper calibration tools I can't say objectively what difference the changes have made, but subjectively I'd say they now make it easier to concentrate on the show rather than the technology displaying it.

So, thank you for your help.
