Virtual Memory

hello all I'm having a problem with my memory, I have a Vista Home Premium with a 250GB, a1709n type,well I put in 2 1GB memory only to find out that virtual memory had stole my ram, my system is still stating that I have 1GB. please some help I checked several times and the ram is set right, what to do?

'Virtual memory' cannot 'steal' your RAM...it is simply space on your hard drive which is allocated to supplement your (significantly faster) physical RAM. Rather, I wonder if the RAM has not been seated properly, is defective, or is not being recognized by the motherboard. Try going into BIOS setup and see if it is reported 1GB or 2GB of RAM.

* First open your motherboard manual and see that your motherboard supports 2GB of total RAM.

* If it does then remove the RAM from the motherboard socket and remove the dust on the golden lines of the RAM by rubbing with the duster/rubber.(Caution! This should be done by experienced user only, not doing it with care may damage it). Then put it back and press it properly.

* Still the problem persist than contect the manufacturer.
