Regarding Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts game

For several weeks in fall 2007, a non-trial download of the THQ/Relic Entertainment real-time strategy game Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts was accidentally offered via the CNET Download.com PC Games section, and promoted on various pages of the site. Due to a series of miscommunications, we were led to believe that the download was a 60-minute trial version of the full game.

Once we learned that the file was instead a locked-version of a purchase-only download of the full game, we removed the product from the site, but not before many Download.com users had a very unpleasant experience.

A functional demo for Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts was recently released by THQ and is available in the real-time strategy section of the PC games category of Download.com.

We apologize for the error regarding the non-trial download and have taken steps with the distributor of the erroneous file to ensure that further miscommunications or mislabeling of trial downloads will not occur.
